Silver Spring elementary school is first in county with mandatory foreign language training

SILVER SPRING, Maryland—Kemp Mill Elementary School is the first elementary school in Montgomery County to implement a mandatory Spanish language immersion program. The program is being phased in, beginning with kindergarten, and will be taught alternating English one week followed by Spanish the next.
